I was able to start on the Vertical Stabilizer this week. First step, identify all the parts and laid them all out. Once that was done, per the construction manual, I Cleco'd the rear spar VS-803PP to the spar doubler VS-808PP along with the rudder hinges VS-410PP, VS-411PP, and VS-412PP. Each bracket was then drilled to size #30.
All the parts for the skeleton (sub structure) are laid out awaiting “Edge Finishing”, “Fluting and Straightening”.
Preparing the ribs is a slow mindless task, but it is all part of the big picture.
