The door system consists of four latch plates to each side of the cage. Interconnected by pushrods, these latches engage four dogs that are atttached to each door. The door latches and dogs had to be fabricated. The shoes had to be installed on the ends of the latches and rivet the upper latch doubler. Pushrods nutplates were installed on the latches. Latches were then installed on the cage. The door latch pushrods were fabricated and then installed. The door dogs which were fabricated were bent over themselves to form catches that will capture the latches when they are rotated by the door handle.The dogs were installed on the doors. The exterior door handles were then installed. The forward over centre spring was installed between the centre latch and the upper shell. Final adjustments were made and finally installed the exterior door handle and interior knob. The doors seem very solid and very secure when closed. We installed cabin door locks on all three doors.
