Over the weekend I was able to fabricate and assemble the LH & RH upper longeron assemblies. Had to fabricate the 1/8" phenolic plates that attach on the underneath side of the longeron angles. The phenolic plates provide the stop protection when the canopy latch is engaged. Also installed the longeron doubler plates. All of the fasteners had to be countersunk.
Note that the plans call out for the doubler plate fwd cutout be flush to the fwd side of the oval cutout. I missed this note when drilling them up. I was able to flip them over the it just so happens that the fit is perfect per plans. Got lucky on this one.
I'm now finished with plans sheet F13. On to F12 which is the assembly of the fwd fuselage side structure.
