Today I installed the sound dampening pads and thrermal insulation to the firewall and cockpit floor. The sound dampeners had a peel and stick adhesive and then were pressed in with a wallpaper seam roller. The insulation used a spray on contact cement, so both firewall/floor surfaces and the insulation back were sprayed with adhesive, allowed to dry and then the insulation positioned. The adhesive has a lot of grab and doesn't let go so getting the firewall done was a challene givien the number of obstructions.
The cockpit floor carpet cushions were attached and then the carpet trial fitted. It is looking good!!
Next I worked on fitting baffle seals to the front air dams to mate up with the plenum. The better a seal I can get the better the engine will cool, so it is worth the work.
