Brief Description:  Flap motor plate rework

Today I did a little rework. I discovered that I had fabricated the Flap Motor plate out of 1/8" sheet stock instead of 1/8" bar stock. As these have somewhat different properties Vans suggested I replace the part with one made from the proper material.

First the flap actuator sdie covers were removed, then the seatback brace and next the motor was separated from the actuaro channel. The channel was removed from the fuselage and the 4 rivets holding the motor plate were drilled out. The new plate was drilled using the original as a template. Plate was deburred and rivet holes countersunk and then plate was riveted to the channel.

The channel was reinstalled in the fuselage and the flap motor bolted and safetied to the plate and angle.

The flap actuator bearing attach bolts were all torqued for final install.

Covers were left off at this time.
