Brief Description:  Radio cable, taxi tests

BNC cable ends arrived from Aircraft Spruce so I made a trip out to the airport. I replaced the end connector that attaches to the radio first, as this one looked suslect with the pin not extending far enough. This did the trick and the radio receives and transmits properly now.

The bolts and castle nuts attaching the rudder cables to the rudder horn were tightened and safetied with cotter pins.

The plenum was installed without the tubes that connect it to the cowl. This will be beteer for running the engine on the ground and will provide more even cooling.

I pulled the pane out of the hangar and ran it for about 25 minutes. I taxied it up and back on the taxiway several times, applying brakes ofter to try to wear them in some. I found this plane to be much more sensitive on the rudder/tailwheel than the Decathlon is. This is probably because the tailwheel has a direct linkage to the rudder versus with springs on the Decathlon. It will take some getting used to.

When the engine was warm I parked at the end of the taxiway and tried running it up to higher power. I got it up to about 2500 RPM (2700 should be max) and that was about all the brakes would hold. I will need to chock the tires to do a full power run up.

Temps and pressures all looked good during the run.
