Brief Description:  Wiring debug

I removed the air inlet rings from the upper cowl and cleaned all the epoxy and wax off of them.

The lower cowl was trial fitted and I found that the induction air cone needed to be sanded a bit shorted to clear the inlet ring. I also found that the alternate air door actuator was hitting the lower cowl so I drilled a new hole for the control cable and trimmed the arm.

Most of the day was spent trying to find the continuing problem with the Radio/Intercom. I am getting a stuck mic indication. The Intercom was sent back to Dynon and I got it back yesterday but when I installed it the same problem exists. A call to Dynon tech said that they found no problem with the unit and they suspect there is a problem with the wiring harness, which was built by Aircraft Spruce. They were helpful on what to look for and I finally determined that one wire in the harness was shorted to the ground shield. I was able to dissect this part of the harness and correct the short.

Once done the intercom was installed and is now working properly. This was an elusive problem that took the better part of 3 days to identify and correct.
