Over the weekend some needed items arrived from Aircraft Spruce and I was able to complete several tasks.
With mounting screws the Suntail strobe was attached to the rudder.
With mounting screws received the ADAHRS unit was mounted to its platform in the rear fuselage. The outside air temperature probe was attached to the fuselage and then wired to the ADAHRS. The pitot, static and AOA tubing were all cut to length and attached to the ADAHRS unit. Wiring and tubing all secured with wire ties.
With nylon washers received the mic and headset jacks were attached to the armrests.
One stick grip was wired for the PTT switch and assembled to the pilot control stick.
Next I worked on the cut-outs for the Autopilot and Knob control center panel. I had printed the cut-out templates on adhesive label stock, then cut these to size and attached them to the panel in the proper position. Next I drilled 1/8" holes at each inside corner and at the mounting holes. Next I drilled the mounting holes to #28. Then I drilled a 1 1/4" hole in the center of the template and a 1/2" hole at each end. This allowed me to use a jigsaw to cut the opening to rough shape. The cut-out was finished using a file, then the remnants of the label peeled off and residue removed with MEK. This was a time consuming but effective way to make these cut-outs.
