I completed the left leg fairing by drilling the hinge to the fairing, countersinking the fairing and deburring the hinge, then riveting the hinge to the fairing. The trailing edge was then trimmed as marked and sanded. The fairing was then installed on the gear leg using a hose clamp.
Next I resumed wiork on the wingtips. These were clecoed in place on the wings and attach holes were final drilled to #28, as I have decided to attach the tips with screws so they can be removed if needed. Van's provides rivets for this attachment.
The tips were removed and the holes in the wing skins were deburred and dimpled. Platenuts were drilled to one wingtip, holes countersunk and platenuts riveted to the wingtip.
