Brief Description:  Panel frame, top skin

On my 3rd iteration I properly fabricated the F-793 angles. It turns out these angles have to be a bit longer for the panel I purchased fro Affordale Panels than is required for the stock Van's panel. I did not have more angle but had enough .032 stck to make my own using the vise and a mallet. Mount angles were then drilled to the fuselage, deburred and riveted.

The panel frame was removed, drilled for platenuts, deburred and countersunk.. Skin attach angles were riveted and platenuts riveted. Frame was remounted in fuselage.

Top skin was clecoed to forward deck structure. This was not an easy task as the skin is a flat piece of aluminum and the fueselage is curved, but with persistence finally prevailed.

The top cowling attach hinge was cut to length and clamped to the firewall/forward fuselage skins. I began drilling the skins to the firewall, shim and hinge, and ended the day with every other hole driled.
