Brief Description:  Forward cabin covers

Work continued on the forward cabin covers. The manual trim tab was removed from the fuel selector plate and edge smoothed.

Considerable time was taken laying out the location of the holes that will beused to secure the center cabin cover to the floor stiffeners. This is important because I plan to use the Andair fuel pump and the mounting brackets for the pump attach at these loactions. Once satisfied with the layout I drilled thse holes using the 90 degree drill and successively larger bits. I also drilled the holes for the attachment of the heat baffle to the firewall recess.

Next I fabricated the fuel pump brackets from angle stock. This took a considerable amount of time as some of the parts are very small and hard to work with, and I assumed the measurements to be critical so the pump would fit. That the measurements were in decimal inches didn't help. The mounting "ears were riveted to the bracket angles and then driled to the cover, which had already been drilled to the floor stiffener. In the end it all appears to match up nicely to the drawing.
