Tonight I began assembling the right wing skeleton. First all ribs were checked to make sure the holes were exactly in line using a straight edge. A few needed a little tweaking with the fluting pliers. Next I riveted the first three inboard ribs under the wing walk to the front spar, starting with the outboard one and moving inboard. This made riveting of these three ribs much easier than what I had with the left wing, where I had riveted the rear spar first to all ribs. This sequence provided much better access to the rivets given the close rib spacing, by eliminating the interfering rib. After riveting these three ribs to the main spar I clecoed the remaining ribs to the main spar and then clecoed the rear spar to all the ribs. Using the pneumatic squeezer I riveted the rear spar to all ribs. There are several different size rivets used in the rear spar and I also had to change the yoke once, so there was a lot of resetting of the squeezer involved.
I still need to rivet the remaining ribs to the main spar and then the skeleton will be ready to place on the wing stand to fit the skins.
