Brief Description:  Rivet leading edge to spar

After a number of experiments with differnt ways to accomplish the riveting of the leading edge ribs to the main spar I decided on the direct approach by putting the rivet gun inside the leading edge and using an offset rivet set to drive the rivet from the rib flange side down through the spar. This is in keeping with having the manufactured head of the rivet against the thinnest material (the rib flange) and the shop head against the thickest material. It was a bit of a contortion act to do this but by running the air hose through the leading edge and working the rivet gun into the bay to be riveted I managed to set all 5 rivets on the most inboard rib and the 2 most outboard ribs. The ribs neared the center are too far in to hold the rivet gun and the bucking bar on the other side so I will need a helper with those. I was pretty pleased with the results as is was a very awkward grip on the rivet gun through various lightening holes and then holding the bucking bar with the other hand. In most cases I could not actually see the rivet set on the rivet or the bucking bar. One rivet head got marked by the set but given the difficulty I was pleased to have gotten done what I did. All rivets are well set and should be fine.

I also dimpled the left inboard main skin and clecoed it and the wing walk doubler back to the wing skeleton.
