After a 2 week vacation-induced hiatus I got a nice day in today, though the accomplishment of work seemed small. The tie downs were assembled by riveting spacers and platenuts to the tiedowns. These were then bolted to the spar, but only after correcting a few errors. I had tapped the wrong end of the right tie down, so had to tap the correct end and then anodize. On the other side, the spacers would not fit between the spar reinforcement plates. I studued this over and over and could not see that I had mixed parts up in assembly, so ended up filing down the offending edge until everything fit as it was supposed to. A quick coat of primer after the fliing and I was able to bolt the tie downs and the aileron bellcrank brackets to the wing spars. The final step for the spar was to enlarge the hole for the stall warning wire and insert the bushing.
After that I started work on the rear spar buy deburring the edges of the spar channel and the reinforcement plates.
I also spent a bit of time putting rivets and hardare away in the drawer cabinets to make everything easier to find.
