Brief Description:  Fuel line installation

- I wasn't happy with the starboard fuel vent line inside the fuselage, as it wasn't quite aligned properly at the floor union. So, I went ahead and made a new one. Later on in the day I drilled a hole in each of the F695 gussets for holding the adel clamps. Vent lines are now complete except for cutting and screening the 45-deg angles on the floor unions where they protrude out of the bottom skin. - Installed the fuel supply lines from the fuselage side skin to the fuel selector. Working the lines through the landing gear mounts was very difficult. After gouging the starboard line, I took a break and searched the internet for the proper technique. I ended up using the same method Walter Tondu did: (ref: http://www.rv7-a.com/cockpit_3.htm, 12/4/04 entry), flaring and putting a Z-shaped bend on the outboard end and then a fairly tight curve into the line that allowed me to feed it through the hole in the gear weldment. It still required a lot of coaxing and manipulation to gradually feed the line through while straightening it out. I also used an automotive rubber hose to shield the line while I worked it through the weldment. Finally, I used the as drawn lower holes in the support brackets although Walter used the upper (electrical wiring) holes, mentioning the possibility of interference with the brake lines if run as drawn...I guess I'll find out. - The fuel vent lines will be removed before painting the cabin and all lines will be cleaned and purged before final assembly.
