After a good night sleep, I’ve had an inspiration for a fix to that curling effect. I thing I had to find a way to avoid this problem for both new and already set rivets. I’ve found some sort of a steel washer that has a bonded rubber washer which I have used to exert some pressure on the flange while I was setting the rivet. Once the rivet was mostly set, I fished it using normal procedure. That worked pretty well actually. For already set rivet, I’ve used an AN washer instead, taped on the bucking bar and set the rivet again. It worked too! And the result was quite impressive. Pretty much all the flanges are now resting flush to the spar. Now it is time to move on…
