Called Van's support yesterday and they will send me the missing part for the Stall Warning Vane in bag# 3013-1. It is the micro switch which is missing actually. However, I may elect to totally ignore the SWV since I intend to install an AOA warning system instead. I’ll decide that later on.
As a note, I had to call them because they are quite lazy answering their emails these days. So far, the last 4 emails were unanswered. When I called, they argue that they did but no way, I would’ve noticed it. I check my emails regularly and check also my “junk” folders. Very frustrating.
Reading through the manual, I decided that I had to search for the parts that would need to be prepared beforehand. There are parts that need some fabrication like these Aileron Hinge and Flap Hinge brackets. I think that besides deburring and trimming, they need to be straighten out as well.
Image 3 shows one of the Flap bracket (W-1025A) bearing some kind of dent in it. I’ll post a question to VAF community to see what they think of that. Chances are they’ll say “build on” again (I hope).
