Brief Description:  Fuel Tank Assembly

How to mount a fuel tank in less than 20 minutes. (Part 2)

Once all the ribs are in place, add 4 additional clecoes to each ribs then drop the assembly into your leading edge cradle.

From the tank skin bottom side, select the middle rib and insert a cleco through the most aft hole of the skin and through the corresponding hole of the rib. The holes don’t line up well so you need to tilt the cleco slightly downward in order for the tip to get in the holes. At this point that cleco isn’t neatly installed but it will correct itself as you add clecoes just below it. Repeat these steps for the remaining ribs. That’s it! From there it is just a matter of adding a cleco in every hole until all holes are filled in.

Before doing so with tank sealant, I suggest that to do a “dry run” with this technique.
