Brief Description:  Supply shopping, new bracket made up and installed

Spent 1.5 hours this morning sourcing the extra hydro fluid and screws ordered then returned to the workshop to begin making up the new, redesigned forward engine control cable bracket. Used one of the cutouts from the panel cut, a large rectangular piece at the exact width I wanted and in a nice thick material obviously matching the panel material, this was one of the shortcomings of the supplied bracket in that it was in a much thinner metal which was not braced in any way and I thought quite flimsy considering the pulling and pushing on either of the 4 knobs in normal operation of the aircraft. Considering our modification to the panel where the ribs were moved outwards (leaving a rather large un-braced part of the panel to flex) I thought to include angle stock we had left from the failed seatback assembly to brace the bracket and provide a flange by which the bracket would attch to the panel flange. The succsessful bracket was riveted then finished and primed, the revised holes were marked then punched and srilled as before with more attention paid to the diameter for a better fit of the cable stems given the newly aquired installation instructions for the cables.

I also spent some time match-drilling, deburring and edging the next major assembly on the front cabin, namely the hinged canopy frame shroud and skin. This will be the next task to look forward to for the new week.
