Brief Description:  front deck install, cable brackets and cables

Today I continued the permanent installation of the front deck structure in the forward cabin, effectively 'closing up' the front top area and creating the seat and anchor points for the panel (face). Some time was spent finishing the panel which interestingly had some minor oxidization and corrosion present. I researched this and found it to be no major threat to what was essentially a non-critical part and followed a tutorial and how to properly deal with and remove the corrosion and then treat to prevent a re-occurence and more critically the spread to major components in an around the forward assemly and canopy frame. With the panel treated/primed after the thorough clean, debur and prep, it was fixed in place on the frame with four screws and the forward engine control bracket installed.

The engine control cables were then positioned (researched this) and secured in place by the 4 adel clamps - particular attention was paid to spacing taking in to account the pilot's reach and size which had been determined in the seat positioning earlier. This was translated to the main engine control cable bracket which was cut, shaped, finished, primed and drilled to take the 3 main control knobs (black, blue then red) and the smaller cabin heat knob positioned inside at the pilot's end. The bracket was then fixed to the panel face in the center by two screws into installed nutplates.
The entire assembly was installed in place and I began to make up the four anchor brackets and could then measure out the positions of the vent installations.
