Brief Description: L wing prep, vent breathers made up, root fairings
Today I went all out to finish the left wing which should have gone to paint today. The two open ends which I have instructed not to be painted were masked off then primed by rattle can primer. All tank bolts and all bolts and screws were tightened, checked, and torqued appropriately. A little more work was put into the surface prep since I am not sure of the level of prep the painters will do - buffed, rubbed and sanded where applicable to where I think the painter can reasonably be expected to handle the rest to get a decent base coat coverage and finish.
I spent some time redoing the right wing 'egress' or fuel vent line breather unit and made up the left wing unit which I then fitted to the newly installed coiled vent line and then located, marked and drilled on the wing root fairing for the egress fitting.
I also cleaned, edged, deburred, prepped and re-primed both root fairing parts L&R so they can go with the wing to be painted and then spent some time gathering, cleaning and prepping all the parts and structures I would like to go with for paint including the control surfaces which are to be touched up and polished/buffed.
