Brief Description:  Continued work on the Right wing tip, remedy on th

Having decribed a problem situation we have with the left wing tip attachment screw holes having been drilled oversize I was unable, yesterday to continue fitting the tip on the right wing before we had some clarity on the way forward. Well first thing this morning I got my answer back from Vans in the US confirmed and backed up by our AP that the #8 holes would suffice and there was no danger of the tip falling/flying off even under load/stress - although Gus was clear to state that this had not been tested he too cited other instances of this and suggested that even when carrying fuel the tips are sufficiently secured in this manner.

I measured and spaced screw hole locations for additonal #6 screws spaced between every 3rd oversize hole but given proper edge distance and took photographs for our AP, asking if he thought this was a good idea for extraq peace of mind - he as always said to stick to what Van's said....I believe this to be an over simplification - yes we are doing what Vans said to do but for peace of mind I would have like to add the additional screws - I am almost sure that with time the existing oversize holes will tear through.

With the way forward clear now I spent time fitting the Right tip to the wing that I put on the worktop, changing places with the completed left wing. After the same process as on the left of fitting, trimming, fitting, sanding and filing I got a good fit and bagan marking up the tip to the wing so that tomorrow I can begin match drilling. I purposely took off less from the tip's flange edge than I did on the left which to be honest did not come out great. I intend a much neater right tip.

I also fitted the tip end rib and trimmed and marked and clamp-ed to be match-drilled too for rivets.

The right wing needs some finishing too to be finalized and a bunch of riveting. I had previously left a lot of the skin riveting til later so that the electrician could get in with his wires but with the tip system I devised and the adequate conduit in the wings, given
