Brief Description: Wing finalizing, wing tip and lights - Right
With work continuing on the wings I began work on the wing tips, the left tip first. Went through the process of making the cutouts in the wingtip for the landing and nav light assemblies.
The strobe/nav light units were disassembled and fitted to the wing tip and match drilled to the fiberglass. Platenuts were installed on the fg tip inside and the light unit was fitted. The assembly was masked off to protect it as I went to work on the landing light housing. The process was followed and the necessary parts were trimmed and fitted then match-drilled and then fitted to the fg face on the tip. Began trimming the 8 landing lamp mounting plates as described in the instructions and started making up the 12 attachment springs, spacers and adjusters as illustrated. Trimmed the lexan lense cover and taped it in place and marked it for proper fit on the squared and trimmed flange edges on the glass tip, covering the light assemblies.
