Today with work continuing on the canopy frame assembly I was horrified to discover significant 'calcium' type build up on most of the parts making up the entire canopy frame and shroud assembly, this was clearly due to corrosion and after some research and questions it is suggested that it is most likely the result of some sort of elctrolysis on these parts during initial fitting some time ago and then spread when they were all stored together.
I was given a method of treating the corrosion and did so then mechanically removed the deposites left and then scuffed, rubbed and finished the surface before re priming, this was done across all the major parts but most significantly on the shroud cover, the panel itself, the side rails and covers, some minor corrosion on the roll bar uprights and on the frame itself.
