Brief Description:  Final drilling, deburring and dimpling of the wing

Today I spent time final-drilling the wingtip attachment holes to #12 and deburred and dimpled on the wing and countersunk on the fiberglass tip as standard. Also began drilling the platenut holes but realized and researched that despite what the manual suggests it would be prudent to install reinforcing strips all along the tip inside edges to ensure that the platenuts don't pull through the glass in the life of the airplane.

Made up these strips (6 per tip) from scrap .060 alclad sheet, about 15mm wide and as long as the sheet allowed. Having cut my strips I deburred and edged them to fit and secured them in place by clamping with glue and then match drilling to install clecos to hold it securely whilst the glue cured overnight.

I also installed the tip lense in place with the tip installed on the wing and some minor trimming was required to get a perfect fit.
