RV-7A Tip-up QB build project

Date:  11-15-2012
Number of Hours:  9.00
Manual Reference:
Brief Description:  LW - wingtips, finishing, RW - riveting....

Having not yet decided on the best method of reinforcing the wing tips I am trying different materials to find which is best. Spent some time cutting and prepparing a bunch of EPS strips to be glued in and then glassed which seems to work great, problem is this requires a foam safe or water-based fg resin which I would have to source.

The alternative of gluing in the plastic tubing in strips and to open the outside edges is also effective but requires a strong and quick curing glue to bond them in place before the are glassed.

I looked it up and asked fellow builders on the forums for the right stuff to do the job either way.

Spent some more time on the stupid filler patches which just don't seem to be sanding down at all...I will source the right tool and complete this work on Friday.

Spent a bit more time riveting and re-riveting drilled-out rivets on the Right wing so that work continues at least but I am quite keen on completing the LW first, wingtip and all so it can be painted whilst I finalize the RW.
