Brief Description: RW wing tank finalized, fuel cap installed
To finish up the tank I installed the fuel drain valves and safited them in place and then removed the fuel caps and researched the installtion of the Newton lockable retrofit caps.
I encopuntered a lot of negative sentiment which I shared with the owner as a concern and then found an example of these being installed which I followed. I found that the left wing cap sleeve was a little tight so the insert needed some filing to fit properly, in the end I got a nice tight fit and with a small adjustment made to the lock mechanism and lubrication added I installed the lock mechanism. I also used a balloon filled with water under pressure to leak test both caps with good results - no leaks, just had to be sure of a sound, water tight fit at the sleeve inserts. Once dry I will check both tanks under pressure as described in the 'pressure test'.
