Brief Description:  Continued closing up the map box, panel rib marked

First thing I did in the morning (before I had to rush off for a doctor's appointment) was to prep and then prime the completed box end frame I had made up, when I returned from the doctor I measured up and marked and then fabricated a 'box end' to close up the box from .063 material I had in the scrap. I don't know if this was a little over the top but I elected to silicone this part in place before riveting and also all the edges of this end of the box. It wasn't much trouble and I wanted a neatly closed up end. Due to the difficulty in reaching the end from inside I elected to rivet this plate on with pop rivets (LP4-4's)

With the box made up and nearly ready for installation I decided it needed some form of lining because of the rivet heads all along the inside edges so a very lightweight but protective sheet of 'PVU' foam was sourced which in dry fitting did a great job of covering up the joins and rivets and made for a neat 'glove box' in which valuables could be stored without fear of damage no matter the turbulence. I first made templates from paper by fitting and marking then trimming. These were transfered to the foam lining which was press fitted into the interior as tightly against the inside as possible. Thin strips were first glued over the rivets and joins.

I also marked the panel rib for trimming as per the left side. I made a template by tracing the completed left side and making a template for transfer.
