Brief Description:  final check of new brake system, empennage fairing

Once I replaced the left and right solid brake lines in the cabin and fitted the new lines accordingly I was happy that the system worked flawlessly and saw no evidence of leaks on the unions. An added benefit of replacing/redoing the brake lines was that I could now get a neater more sound system with much better routing and straighter lines. I spent quite some time getting the lines straight and neatly bent using a variety of tools including the new spring benders which worked a treat. I could now also adjust the right line in particular to clear the fuel line union at the firewall and remove alltogether, the horrible union near that point that I had before that was leaking and always going to be a potential weak point. With that done I focused my attanetion on the empennage fairing which I had been avooiding for months. To get a close/snug fit at all points along the installation was seeming near impossible annd my skills with building up and filling composites is not good enough that I can solve this easily, yet I persisted and with a little consultation, research and carefuly thought I was able to place some additional fasteners at key points to flatten the bubbles or lefting edges, some filling and shaping and heat forming was also necessary - per the instructions. In the end I think I have a good result, some trimming still required (I left it oversize to get the best fit and then I will trim) now that I have marked out all the trim lines.
