Brief Description: H-stab tip completed, R stab tip redone,
Coming in to work I found that the starboard stab tip rib assembly had cracked, the foam insert was cracked early on but I didn't see it so when I removed the tip for filler I had to dremel out the entire rib assembly and all traces of epoxy and resin which was well cured by now. After stripping and cleaning the tip interior completely I made up a new foam and balsa sandwhich insert and epoxy'd and resin'd in place. Fitted the rudder and it's tips to determine the fit, gap and clearnace of the rudder tip to the fin tip. This involved hollowing out a slight concave in the fin tip balsa plate to allow the stipulated 1/8 clearance in the swing, after some fitting and removing to trim and the refitting I achived a perfect gap.
