Brief Description: Trim Tab Fitting to the Elevator
I test fitted the trim tab to the Elevator and discoverd two problems. First, I drilled and riveted the hinge to the trim tab with the hinge eyes extended two far and could not get the trailing edge of the trim tab to align with the trailing edge of the Elevator - oops. I also discovered the trim tab had a slight twist - oops, again. I drilled out the rivets holding the hinge to the trim tab. I will get a new hinge from Vans and then will try to make sure the trim tab is held down flat to the table top when I rivet the new hinge to make sure there is no twist.
