Brief Description: Instrument Panel Conversion And Fuel Tank Install
Re-installed two single-wing nutplates on instrument panel tabs using larger CCC rivets. Had to use a 6-32 tap to clean out a couple of nutplate threads. Instrument panel now attaches at all nutplates to the glare shield without problems.
Finished converting the instrument panel from fixed to removeable by final drilling and fitting of the AN3 bolts through the longerons into the left and right instrument panel support brackets. Used three (3) AN3-14A bolts with a washer and AN365-1032A stop nut, and one (1) AN3-13A bolt with no washer and an AN365-1032A stop nut to mount the left and right support brackets to the longeron on each side.
Removed the instrument panel to re-install the fuel tank. cut the capacitance probe fuel sender rod to length for installation in the fuel tank. Installed the fuel tank for a loose fit, and aft against the tank stop strap. Ready to install two gallons of fuel for pre-swelling the tank.
