Brief Description:  Windshield Installation (Continued)

Spent a little bit of time today trying to do some things that would not be affected by my need to talk to Kerry before continuing.

Started by locating and drawing the position centerline for the holes on the rear windshield bow.

Then struck the 1" insertion depth line for how deep the skin should initially go in between the fuselage skin and the longeron on each side.

Then struck a vertical centerline for the filler cap opening and the top dead center of the top of the arch at the rear of the windshield.

Also transferred this vertical centerline to the dead center of the windshield bow strap as well.

Finished by overlaying the skirt over the windshield, ensuring the aft winshield and skirt edges were flush along the entire lenght and centered left to right, and the left and right sides of the fuel cap openings in the windshield and skirt were flush. I then traced the inner outline of the skirt onto the windshield protective plastic for reference when it is being installed.

Also tape marked both sides of fuselage to show where canopy forward bow is, and how far past this point forward the acrylic material extends past the bow. This will be needed when fitting the windshield with the conopy removed form the hinge and off the fuselage.
