Brief Description:  Rudder Pedal Nose Wheel Push Rod Mounting.

SNB-C02 & SNB-C01.

Assembled the nose wheel steering push rod assembly per plans. Had to remove the powder coating from the section which has the springs and slider assembly in order to get the slider to go on the rod. Polished and greased this and it seems fine.

Attached the linkage between the rudder pedal and the nose wheel drive horn, passing the rod through the boot in the firewall. The linkage allows full nose wheel deflection to the right, but the spring at the nose gear retainer stop end contacts the steering stop plate, preventing full left nose wheel deflection. The push rod also comes very close to contacting the left side (viewed from in front of firewall looking aft) of the firewall opening for the boot. It appears if the mounting hole on the nose wheel drive horn was a slight amount further from the shaft (a slightly larger throw radius?) it would resolve this, but might change the pedal push/pull distance. Possible that simply notching out a little of the contact area on the stop plate could resolve the issue as well. Will not make any adjustments/modifications until the tail and empenage control surfaces are installed and can be adjusted for movement range per the plans.
