Setup the Carbon Fiber panel for CNC engraving and cutting. Engraved all labels first. Engraved the larger text above the main displays with a 1/16" flat bottom straight bit, but used a 45 degree v-bit to engrave the smaller label text to a uniform depth to fill with white enamel paint for good contrast and readability. Since this is extremely dependant on a consistant material thickness across the entire web, and small text will show even the smallest variation in surface engraving depth in the form of variable letterthickness, I set the material surface touch-off at each of 9 different small/fine text label areas. I engraved each area individually, minimizing cross-web thickness variation.
I then cut all openings for the displays, mini-panels, switches and other panel components.
Next step will be to paint-fill all text and label engravings.
Engraving the small-text labels.
Cutting all panel, switch and component openings.
Final cut and engraved Carbon Fiber panel overlay, ready to paint-fill the labelling text.
