Plans: 1. Replace the bolt on the landing gear spreader bar. Status: An inspection of the Bungee gear found that bolt threads for the spreader bar were cutting the cord. Reversing the bolt would correct the situation. But with the full weight of the airplane being supported by the gear system simply removing the bolt would be impossible without collapsing the gear. Unfortunately this is a very difficult job to do while bearing the full weight of the aircraft. I have been struggling to come up with a way to do this safely. What to do. I created a temporary spreader bar and brace cable to replace the ones being worked on. Hence the temporary pieces held everything safely together while I removed the original spreader bar.
