Plans: 1. Replace the anti-freeze with pure water and retest. Status: Complete. I drained the cooling system and replaced it with Arrowhead water. A hydrometer indicated that there was approximately 5% anti-freeze remaining. I ran the engine and found as before it's difficult to tell. That said the oil temperature is clearly lower. I could easily get it to 200 degrees in the past. Now it seems to slow down dramatically and I shut down the test before is cleared 180 degrees. The blower came on close to 210 degrees and I suspect that made the difference for the oil. The only way to verify success will be to just idle and see where the temperature stabilizes. This is against the break-in rules. At the moment I have about six hours on the engine. Break-in finishes at 20 hours.
