Brief Description: Avionics Cooling/Defroster Part 1
I needed a simple way of venting any heat from the instruments. A lot of builders used a simple muffin fan but I wanted a means of adding heat to the windscreen in case I ever got into ice. I came up with plenum connected to the cabin heat and fresh air with a muffin fan to always move air onto the windscreen. I added a simple flap valve to control any heat as much as possible. To build the defroster/avionics I purchased 4" louvers from Aircraft Specialtys. Cut the top skin for the louver and built a plenum and doubler. Riveted the doubler and plenum in place
