Brief Description:  Throttle Quadrant

I didnt like the control cables that came from Vans so I returned them and purchased metal push pull cables from ACS. When I ordered them I made the mistake of ordering control cables with 3 3/8" of control movement. The Vans cables have 2 1/2" of movement. This does not create a problem in the engine compartment since I was making brackets to mount the cables anyway but it did necessitate some rework of the quadrant cable mounting.
To make the control cables work I removed the F-864E-1 Cable Anchor and used the Gear Tower as the cable anchor.
Since the holes for the cables had already been drilled for plastic gromets and were oversize I removed the F-964D-1 throttle Quad Bracket and remade it larger to cover the existing holes.
Using the left gear tower as the bulkhead mount for the control cables and the levers moved to the FULL forward position the cables are right at their forward limit.
I did not use rivets to mount the replacement F964D Throttle bracket. Screws were used so that the control cables could be replaced easily if necessary.
One advantage of using the cables with the longer movement is that it moves the cable back further from the exhaust system.
