There is only 1/2 inch from the end of the skin to the edge of the rib. Unfortunately the holes that Vans put in the skin are 5/16 in from the edge which does not leave the required 1/4 of material to rivet to. To fix this I am epoxying 1" strips of .020 aluminum to the fiberglass this aluminum extends 1/8 past the edge of the fiberglass so now we are good to go Using T-88 system structural epoxy
