Oh man what a frustrating day. I tried to bend the trim tabs per the directions and although the bottom tab bent properly the jig I had built was just a bit too small. The tabs bent against each other. After reviewing the web sites many other people had the same issue. I decided to cut off the badly bent tabs and build a rib to fit in the space. I discussed my idea with vans and they indicated many people have done the same thing. I fashioned a rib from .020 skin and. The Rib extends to the spar and will be caught by 2 of the rivets that go through the skin and spar. I verified with an IA that I know that the rivet callout (blind) that Vans specified for the spar is long enough to catch the new rib skin
