Brief Description: Fuselage thru the wall for Rigging
The 1st photo below shows the wall modificaion of my shop with the Fuse positioned thru it. The second shows it from the other side of the Garage with the Wings in place from the right front. The last shows the same thing from the left front.
When I complete this phase I can install doors on that opening and have an isolated shop back again together with a seperated garage for my wife's car. This for Dust and dirt containment/management. Yet...by doing this I can initially "Rig" and assemble the A/C so that I can then remove it all to cover with Fabric the Fuse, Wings and other parts confident that when I take everything to the airport I wil not have to cut into the fabric to install something I forgot. This phase of the build is critical as final positioning of all parts as they fit and relate to each other is done during this phase and these steps. I expect to be into Fall before I dis-assemble everything. I intend to have at least 2 or 3 AP/IA's check my work here before I move on. This has been a fun airplane to build...not with-out it's frustration's - by any means - but certainly fun all the same.
I have a number of repairs to make on the bottom Wings. I found that they have suffered several breaks in the wood ribs and geo parts thru the years, moving and handleing them. I'll do that when I get them back to the work table for Urethane coating. All repairs will be completed prior to that step. After that....it's fabric covering, rib stiching, taping, and UV coat.
