Brief Description:  Fabric Covering - Stab, El, Rud

Last week was spent getting re-current with my Flying. I contacted our Club CFI and arranged for several hours of instruction and chek-out. We were able to schedule 3 full days and flew over 6 hours together. He's a great Instuctor for me and really puts me thru my paces. He actually decided to do a full BFR and signed off on a new current BFR in my log book at the end of the week. It was great training and I'm again comfortable in the plane and the air. I hope to keep it that way thru the rest of the year. I just let other things get in my way - including working on this A/C. I'ver resolved to not let that happen again. I enjoy the flying too much. With the move of the Club Plane to EXX from INT my time to the Airport is doubled but doable.
Back to the building....I covered the Rudder with Poly Fiber following their instructions to-the-letter and took it and the ready-to-cover frames for the Stab and El to my AP-IA for inspection. He was totally satisfied with the "factory built" frames and my varnish/sealing efforts. He was also very satisfied with my covering tech. and efforts and cleared me to continue to do just these 3 pieces. I now have to "rib-stich" all three and then add the tapes over top of each rib and all leading and trailing edges to complete the covering of them. I'll then (after he again inspects them) Poly Brush them and then remount the hinges to all three and also re-install the Strut Tube attachment angles to the Stab. These will be the only parts I intend to cover with the Poly Fiber System. The chemical are too caustic for my taste. I'm switching to Stewart Systems material from this point forward.
