Brief Description:  Top Right Wing Build (completion)

I've spent the last 4 days (most of them) looking at and trying to understand the Plans for the KIt. Compared to my Zenith 601XL Plans they are large, faded, somewhat difficult to read in places and contain little or no measurements, They also do not identify Part #'s written on most of the parts. They include hand-printed instructions and many "Notes" with sub drawings all over. One is expected to read the Vague (at best) assembly instructions and general order of assembly comments and study the "Notes" and all drawings and assemble the Plane. I spent 5 hours finalizing exactly which parts (aluminun Tubes) Nuts' and Bolts, Aluminum Plates, pieces of Cut Square Alum Tube and Round Alum Fittings for the Main Fuselage Landing Gear. I spent better than an hour placing the "Plate" that ties most of the parts together at the Wheel Mount location, in every conceivable variation of installation I could think of. It never lined up with the pre-drilled holes to satisfy me. Only after I opened the plastic bag of "Brake Parts" did I find a small print of Plans drawing that clearly showed the final allignment of that Plate. Only then did it make sense. The Fuse Plans Print showed only one view of these parts and not one that shows the relationship of one part to the other. It's going to be a real challenge and I'm looking forward to beating it.

I've started to Finish the Top Right Wing. Final fitting and glueing of Geodetic's and measurement of Ailerion parts and cutting locations, Wing Bow, etc....The T-88 is slow drying so one fit's up a bunch of parts, markes them, mixes a batch of T-88, applies it to the parts and joints, assembles them, clamps or pins them and then walks away overnight to let it dry and set. The next day another batch is done....the Wings will take a lot of time this way. I've got 21 hours so far and I'm a good bit away from finishing the one started. Different disipline and thought process in wood then in Aluminum Sheets.
