Worked on the Cabanes this week. Polished each and every piece of them and reassembled them on the Fuselage. I then got started on the Windshield installation. Laying it out and measuring took a great deal of time as the plans give very little detail about their installation. I didn't like the simple 1/8" X 1/2" strip with a simple bend in it that was provided for this purpose and the holes that were predrilled were so close together that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to get nuts on the bolts or screws (which ever I chose to use). So I made new ones out of 6061 1/8" stock I had on had from my Zenith build. Much stronger and neater in appearance.These two jobs too a great deal of time and effort but are now complete. The paint on the forward top covering does not match....it is base coat only and will be repainted when I get back to painting the Wings.
