Brief Description:  Corvair Core (entry #2)

continued from #1-2
This is the second part of my engine dis-assembly to show more pics. Shown are the Cylinders, oil pan, baffles for the cylinders, push rods, push rod tubes, rocker arms, rocker arm balls and nuts (yep I somehow lost two nuts), crankcase bolts and head bolt/rocker arm studs and plates, oil dip stick and exhaust manifold clamps. Other parts in the background or on the left side are detailed in the 1st entry of this date.

This engine, I discovered, has been apart before and has two different heads. I've called back to my source and he quickly told me to bring em back and he'd match up two proper heads from his inventory. I said before this guy is a gold mine and 1st class source of Corvair Engine parts. He has no interest in building Corvair A/C engines but IS interested in becoming a source of used parts for folks who do want to build their own Corvair A/C engine. With his permission, I'll be happy to provide his name and Phone Number to any who want to contact him. Drop me an e-mail thru this contact point.

I said earlier that my wife Jackie was annoyed at my dirt from polishing.....She was really ( and justifiably) bent out of shape on how dirty I got doing this tear down. Plus the fact that 40 year old oil smells bad and it's hard to get rid of the bad odor....the things we do to fly our own planes.
