Brief Description:  Top Rib & Skin prep

Today I remade the top rib...not once,..not twice....but 5 times....and new forms each time. I'm starting to get the hang of it even if they are not working out to my satisfaction. I did finally figure it out - I think - my front flange was too long. I cut it back considerable and it actually came out as I wanted and looks like and measures like the plans call for.

Fitted the last one...actually #7 to the bent strip and spar, drilled, deburred, primed, riveted it on.

Layed out the Skins for the Rudder and cut them. Ended up wasting a foot of .016 aluminum because I didn't check the measurements one more time and had the longest (vertical) one too long. Bummer. Learning curve. I won't make that mistake too often again.

Bent the trailing edge skin as required on my "Dave's Brake" and it worked as advertised. Measured and trimmed the skin to all demensions...4 times checked...marked off the drill points with the spacer fan and drilled and cleco'ed the whole thing per the construction pages.
