Brief Description:  Canopy frame fitting page 2

I removed all of the Canopy frame parts from the fuse then filed and touched up all of the metal edges...scotchbrite padded them and re-primed, scuffed and painted all of them. I also fitted the strike/latch pin plates to the fuse top longeron. I'll now need to acquire the plastic canopy from Roger...I did not bring it home with me...fit it to the frame and my fuse...then tweak any changes to it necessary to complete that fit.

I'll also need to order the screws, cup washers, and a handel kit as those same parts are used on the 650 canopy and Roger will be using those parts on his new replacement 650 canopy when it is ordered and arrives.

When I order and receive those parts, and pick up the plastic canopy from Roger, I can attach the Canopy to the frame, install the outside side flashing - remove it all in a single piece and store it (covered) in the loft of my Barn where I have lots of unused room. It can stay there, out of danger, until the rest of the plane is ready for final assembly.

Then - on the other hand.....maybe I could later decide to switch to the 650 Canopy. Or Not. TBD
