Brief Description:  Wing Ribs

Yesterday was a flying day. Time to take the Club C-172 and renew my enjoyment of being airborne. Spent 2+ hours in the sky and loved every minue of it. Today I again worked on the Wing Ribs. More details on Rib #2 formed parts and Formed #3's right and left rib. Had to do the left one a second time as I cracked the aluminum driving it into the relief cuts to help the turns. Too much hammer. Another learning curve lesson. I also began the day by cutting out all of the Wing Rib Aluminum Blanks (.025) that I had layed-out Tuesday before I quit for the day. I now have 3 ribs formed (6 pieces) and blanks for 12 more. I do not like the results I'm getting with my flange dies made from Trex Decking. I've recut new ones twice now with no change in results. They are cut right, fit snug but I expect to see a sharper more defined flange than I get. Might be me. I have not cut out the flange holes in Ribs #2 and #3 because of this.
