Brief Description: Torque rotor head bolts & Compass Card
There was some confusion as to the required torque on the rotor head bolts. Tom and I found two different types of bolts with two different torque specifications.
Delane and Bobby helped us sort it out and both Tom and I re-torqued the main rotor head bolts on our respective helicopters, and then safety wired them back in place.
Another item that the FAA warned me was a failure item on the Airworthiness Inspection was the lack of a deviation card. I found deviation cards and a holder at Aircraft Spruce, and secured it in place.
I’m hoping the inspector is fine with a blank card because I can’t move my helicopter yet, and the compass will need to be calibrated at a later date. The fact that my Phase I flight testing is going to limit me to the airport for 25 hours, I’m pretty sure I will be able to fine my way back to the hanger.
